Melaka River Cruise may not be as popular as Venice River Cruise, but if you happened to be in Melaka, the historical city of Malaysia, it’s definitely one of the must-do activity. It’s also one of the best way to explore the heritage trails along the Melaka River which include the famous red-painted heritage building – The Stadthuys. Melaka itself was once a successful and important trading centre in the Straits of Malacca during the 14th and 15th century, linking traders and crusaders from India, China and Arabs. Some buildings from that glorious era still stand by the river and preserved, which create a great sights for the passengers of the Melaka River Cruise. Below are some of the pictures taken from the Melaka River Cruise’s boat during my recent short-trip to Melaka.

  • Fee: RM10 (Adult), RM5 (Kids) – Cheap huh?
  • Cruise period: 30-45 minutes back and forth from the jetty
