You’ve probably see the official list of Top 10 iPhone and iPad apps 2010 released by Apple last week. The list is categorized by Top 10 Paid Apps, Top 10 Free Apps and Top 10 Grossing Apps for both iPhone and iPads. Unsurprisingly, the apps that make up the list is the household names such as Angry Birds, Facebook, Plants vs. Zombies, Doodle Jump, Cut The Rope, Skype, Fruit Ninja etc. You can check the full list at Mashable or TechCrunch websites. It’s interesting to point out that all Top 10 Paid iPhone Apps are games.
Looking at the list, I was interested to check them out in my iTunes and download whatever top apps that are missing from my iPhone. In iTunes Store, Apple had released the iTunes Rewind 2010 feature to showcase the top apps of 2010. However, clicking on each category of the top apps button presented me with different list from what I’ve seen from Mashable or TechCrunch websites.
My first guess is iTunes shows me the Top Paid Apps, Top Free Apps, and Top Grossing Apps 2010 in Malaysia only. If this is true, did iTunes shows a different top apps list for the other countries as well? And it didn’t say whether the list is for iPhone or iPad either. To be safe, I wouldn’t say whether it’s Top iPhone or Top iPad Apps here, just ‘Top Apps 2010 in iTunes Malaysia’. Here’s the list (in no particular order):
