iPhone 3G will be available in more than 70 countries, excluding Malaysia

Yes, it will be available in more than 70 countries later this year. This is according to press statement released by Apple Inc. in their announcement about iPhone 3G recently. And yes, It will be available in Liechtenstein, Guinea, Honduras and even Botswana, but not our country Malaysia! It seems that our country is still left behind in terms of marketing prospects for iPhone I guess. Below is the list of countries that will be made available with new iPhone 3G, with more countries described as coming soon…

For iPhone enthusiasts like me, I have been hoping that the new version will be coming here since I heard the rumours about the new iPhone 3G. Apple Malaysia should do a little bit more to convince its headquarter to launch it in Malaysia. Looking at the iPhone blogs and forums in Malaysia blogosphere, I believe we have a significant numbers of iPhone fans in Malaysia. I think the reason they are not coming here because there is no AT&T telco partner in Malaysia. Do you think that Maxis, Celcom or Digi want to deal with them?
The only good news is Singapore is one of the country in iPhone 3G World Tour. So for those who really want to get it, it is still not very far away to cross the ‘bridge’ to the ‘Lion City’. I will make sure that I will be one of them.
